What are you looking for?

Hello,

Welcome to the last edition of Quick e-News for 2007!

Over 97% rate us Good or Excellent!

The results are in from our recent independent customer satisfaction survey, and I’d like to thank the many hundreds of you who responded to the survey and for the feedback provided. This feedback is an invaluable tool which we all here will use to help us to improve our service to you even further.

I felt very proud reading the results which showed an outstanding overall result with 72% of you rating us as Excellent and 25% as Good, but that does not take away the small number of constructive comments which are the most valuable aspects of the survey. We will be taking this few comments on board to improve a couple of aspects of our service next year, and for these I am most thankful.

…and the winner is!

Those who completed the survey would know that a prize of a weekend away was up for grabs, and the winner is Hugo Godfrey of Godfrey Accounting.

Personally I am pleased that Hugo won the weekend holiday, as being one of our longest standing customers having placed his first order with us in November 2003, I hope that this length of time using Quick™ is a testimonial to the service we strive to provide.

A recap of 2007:

As many of you who have been receiving this newsletter for a year or more will know, this year started off a pretty tough year for me personally, which was reflected in a relatively slow start to the year for the business. However due to the fantastic support from my team here at Quick Formations the company continued to grow and do well throughout the year, and we look to finish the year with sales about 20% up on 2006! Not only do I normally agree with valuing and respecting your staff, but this is demonstrated to me this year. Look after and value your staff and they will look after you.

During the start of the year we had a bit of a high where UK Business Forums Limited ceased being part of The Quick Group of Companies and were sold to Sift Media for a deal worth up to £1/4 million. UKBF had originally been brought under the Quick banner at the beginning of 2003 as a tentative investment, with the original objective of giving our clients a means to network and support each other through an online community. I did not foresee the huge growth of the forums which eventually led to them becoming the UK largest online business community, and they now attract more than 4,000 unique daily visits from business owners networking and supporting each other online.

This year Quick Formations turned 5 years old and being a new addict to golf myself we celebrated it with a golf day at the prestigious Whittlebury Park. Although my golf left a little to be desired, the day was enjoyed by all and I was very pleased to receive so many emails and letters of thanks after the day. With 50% of businesses failing within the first year and 75% within 3, I’m glad to say we are obviously within the minority. I’ve said it before, but again I feel a large part of that is down to having a great and supportive team behind me here at Quick™.

We launched what I hope is to be one of our biggest partnerships, which is the Practice Formations service in partnership with Sift Media and PracticeWEB. Utilising our award winning technology into their web platform their 600 accountancy clients now have an electronic company formation and filing service as part of their existing service with PracticeWEB. Although almost a year in the making the launch of this service was a huge step for us, and one which I’m very proud to have achieved.

My Head of Compliance, Rebecca, has spent some time out in China this year working with our colleagues in the Far East. This was to enable us to launch a new service and although not currently being highly publicised, we are now able to provide a consultative service for businesses looking to outsource part of their operation, or to expand, into China. The interesting, and quite surprising, feedback we have found is that companies originally looked to reduce labour costs through their expansion there but instead found the biggest benefit was the increased sales and business from dealing within China!

This month we’ve seen the introduction of the Anti Money Laundering Regulations 2007 which has given our industry a bit of shake up, with many agents being caught off guard. Admittedly it has given me plenty to do, by planning and investigating ways in which we can continue to provide a slick streamlined operation but still complying with a cumbersome and time consuming legislation. Many of our regular clients would have already received letters from us, and those who haven’t will be contacted the next time they place an order with us.

All things considered this year has been another very active and eventful year, and we have also realised a few opportunities which will see the launch of two new Quick™ companies in January. This will be officially announced in the first couple of newsletters next year.

I’m not a great believer in setting New Years resolutions any more, because they nearly always get broken. However on a personal note for next year I plan to get my golf handicap into the low teens, and I now have an added challenge, my wife has got a set of golf clubs and just simply cannot let her get better than me!

I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and here is to a Great ‘08.

All the best,

Richard M. Osborne
